Beer Salmon RecipePosted by DFH in cooking , beer salmon recipe |
Ingredients
- Salmon filet slab or about 6 salmon steaks
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon pepper (per taste)
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cloves
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
- Two 12-ounce bottles of a favorite Porter–16 ounces for the recipe and 8 ounces to drink while preparing the salmon.
Saute onion for about five minutes in the margarine/butter in a skillet, adding flour and stirring it in. While the onions are sauteing, wash and dry fish and rub in the salt and pepper. Slowly add the Porter, constantly stirring the mixture until it reaches a boil. Add salmon, sugar and cloves to the skillet. Cook covered and over low flame for about 30 minutes, periodically spooning the sauce over the salmon. Place the finished salmon on a platter and garnish as desired. The sauce is a real treat and delicious to sop up with a good bread or over a side dish.
